The 7th/8th grades meet as a group together on Sunday mornings with their team of adult advisors.
The activities of the group combine self-exploration, making friends, social service, religious learning, and worship.
The program is an exercise in ethical decision-making that engages the whole person. The group also stayed with host families, travelled and learned about various local concerns, and saw some of Costa Rica’s amazing wildlife.For more information about the YRUU program, contact Michael Molk, the Director of Lifespan Religious Exploration: [email protected] you’d like to talk to a youth, please feel free to contact Kari Gottfried.Their issues will be respected and addressed in age-appropriate ways. High school youth (approximately ages 14-18) and their adult advisors (adults in the community, 25 , who have volunteered their time) plan the discussions and activities that they do on Sundays or at other times throughout the year.
The advisors and youth develop friendships, trust, and community.Other Sundays this celebration of joys and sorrows is incorporated into their own gatherings.
