Most was bout 3 miles north east of us out by Wal Mart over in Celina. We had some beautiful weather, great conversations and we even held our "flag burning / Memorial" around the campfire on Saturday night. and thanks for all your prayers an concern, have a good time in kokomo. Been talking with a guy who owns #358 of the 129th & although it looks like a basket case, he has all the parts to put it back together. Owner has helped out other groups with parts & airframes etc. JW it's a milestone that a lot of us were blessed to see. Ended up in Vung Tu 18th Quarter Master pulling security and later around September I was back at the 129th. These reunions over the years have been priceless having the opportunity to see our Brothers once again. Alex Gently, never sent you an address for flowers for Billy. Then, Charlie Rains found me and eventually told me to contact Mark Jackson. This site has brought so many into our 129th Family. I Love You guus and sure do Love doing your site for all of you. Messed up a Dollar General mostly and windows and doors on other buildings. This November will be 52 years that some of us got to the 129th until April 13 th 1968 ETS from Lane. His wife had a quite viewing and celebration of life already.
He had not told me what kind of cancer he had but she said it was a tumor in his Liver Duct which took his life in less than six months.
If you are ready, willing and/or able......please be there! This funny pill don't have thinking straight at times. I hope we have a great turn out for Kokomo this year.
Always a brother, Gale 67-68 Gale Beard Bruno I believe we were west of Camp Holloway in 66. Alex Thanks JW I left I left a few days before Thanksgiving 66. Mark, I hope you can make it this year................................always a brother!
The Doctor said that the machine will go away in a week. Last of all been in touch with Larry Stokes who missed us all at Kokomo do to the storm along with Berry Winkler who didn't blow away. Maybe you'll be doing a little "two-step" now & then. sat on the bed & put my knee on the edge of the bunk & very slow let it hang. I was able to bend the knee & touch my rump in about a week or so. She came to the Guard in 1975 and flew with them until retirement of the fleet. Ken Strong Jr Candler, FL USA - Friday, October 06, 2017 at (EDT) Tomorrow 51 years ago on October 7th 1966 the 129th AHC lost our first crew on a B model gunship. Alex Fernwalt hi the va did it to me again make the third time all most killed me the doc told my wife good thing you got him here he would be dead by about 4 to 5 hours it had a lot to do with the pills they were giving me arthur foster Good evening everyone just got back to Florida last night. We need to find a way to communicate to all of when a Brother is not doing good. I didn't know Don had moved back to Barberton or I would stopped and seen him when I was the in Feb. At the Louisville reunion found out that Don and I was living a few miles from each other growing up in the Barberton/Kenmore Ohio area. He actually bought up possibly donating it & all I was after at the time was some recent pics of it, so that was a nice surprise.
Next after moving I am broke so temp didn't pay cell bill but want to remind everyone I still do have just a 129th number at 3 to use for the next couple weeks. The medical staff @ Brook Medical Ctr in San Antonio rigged up some contraption on the bed to start the knee bending. The Doc had promised me a 30 day leave once I could bend it enough to touch my butt. It was just re-hoisted onto a pedestal at the CT National Guard Aviation facility at 139 Tower Ave in Groton, CT. I remember the first time we met Kathy and Wes: it was when we all took helicopter rides at Kokomo and they got lost...hence the nick names we gave them. This has been sad news for many of us who knew her from the Reunions over the years and were waiting for her to get a Kidney and be back with her bright smile to cheer us all up at Kokomo. So again we need to talk about the future at Kokomo. Ken Strong Jr Lafayette, IN USA - Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at (EDT) Thanks Gently and the Brothers whom OK to help Don's wife and Family through this difficult time. Last Wednesday morning I was thinking of when I left Vietnam.... I checked with a friend that works at one of the funeral homes in Barberton but, she has seen anything yet. It was good to have met and talked with him at some of the reunions. Kal Bergstrom Saint Joseph, MI USA - Sunday, August 06, 2017 at (EDT) Slow Hand Salute to Don Mc Cord. Was speaking with a guy who owns one that was only with the unit for a couple of months, but he has a few Hueys littering his property & he's been donating parts & airframes to groups.....
Kenny, the Cobra guns were @ the 129th when i got there. they were quite a sight to see when they were fully loaded & "taking off" just about three/four inches off the ground. Alex TN USA - Sunday, December 10, 2017 at (EST) Mark I do have a couple of questions for everyone. Have had some say it bumps them off and my only note is that it takes time to load. I can't get them to work on my computer after being checked. Ken Strong Jr Wildwood, FL USA - Saturday, December 09, 2017 at (EST) Ken,anything you need added to the site let me know what it is and I will ask our Geeks how to send it to them and then it can be added..................... I can drive but, rough getting into my Expedition getting out is the easy of the two. So now kicking around the idea of crashing Wink's new place for those close to him. Listening all of the time for her quiet sounds but just too damn quiet. you know you guys must of told me of kathys condition at one time but as usual one tends to forget as you get older. Now have internet so can make changes again to the Roster. I been looking for 3 people I was with in our 129, George Perry ( spc 5 than pasted the test for staff before shipping out ), Thomas Fortrain whom I think is from Texas and Kenton Jones who I think lives in either Bronx or Broolyn New York these guys were with me in 69-70 and they were all crew chiefs. at this point in time it's crazy to try to leave with all the main highways, 75, 95,an I-4 jammed with bumper to bumper cars an trucks. He got out at the Moon Walk in New Orleans about 2pm, Thursday August 24th. For you COBRA crews, American Huey 369, Will have it's B Model Gunship 049 equipped with mini-guns and light rocket tubes on display at the farm next door. Paul Boggs morning flight, kokomo is coming up fast, looking forward to see all. & it would be nice to have one that looks at least as good as #261...
